Setting up Domains with GoDaddy
Using Linkly with GoDaddy is easy.
How to Add a Subdomain on GoDaddy (CNAME record)
If you're already using this domain for a website, follow these instructions to add a subdomain.
Login to GoDaddy.
Under My Products, navigate to Domains.
Under the domain you want to edit, click DNS.
Scroll to the bottom and click ADD.
Enter the record details
For the subdomain link.mydomain.com:
Type: CNAME
Host: link
Points to: domains.linklyhq.com
TTL: 1/2 HourEnter the record detailsAdd the domain to Linkly.
Click Domains in Linkly and add it there. Linkly will detect the records and add it to your account.
How to Add Root Domain on GoDaddy
Add an A record to attach an unused domain to Linkly. This domain must not being used for another website.
Login to GoDaddy.
Under the domain you want to edit, click DNS.
If this record exists, edit it and change its value to: 34.133.74.21
Check to see if you already have a record of Type: A and Name: @.
If this record exists, edit it and change its value to: 34.133.74.21.
If you already have a website on this domain, you this will disable your website. You should consider adding a subdomain instead.
Create a new A record.
The details are:
Type: A
Name: @
Value: 34.133.74.21
TTL: 1/2 Hour (any value will do)Add the domain to Linkly.
Click Domains in Linkly and add it there. Linkly will detect the records and add it to your account.
